Feeding fences for the western capercaillie

In the previous months Slovenian Forest Service employees finalized the determination of locations for 5 western capercaillie feeding fences in size of 3,5 ha. The fence route was marked by a yellow marker. Detailed arrangements about the work process were made with district foresters.

Growth of fruit-bearing herbs, such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, will be stimulated.  In spring, fruit-bearing shrubs and trees will be planted. This way, the feeding habitat of our largest grouse species will be improved.
