This year no evidence of the White-tailed eagle at Rogati hrib
In July 2016 a photo trap was placed near Rogati hrib fish pond and soon, a white-tailed eagle was detected visiting the area. Unfortunately, we were unable to confirm presence of the species this year, even though the area is frequently visited by many other animal species (check the videos below).
It seem like the main reason for the eagle to visit the pond is the carp fish stock. As the white-tailed eagle diet study shows, the most important food sources for the species are birds, fish and mammals. Read the full report here (available in Slovenian).
