The building was constructed in 1887 – 1995. After the completion the building was used as a one-classroom private school managed independently by the nuns of the Order of St. Vincent of Paul. It was used as a hospital during World War I therefore classes were held in private homes. Now it houses the Town Hall and the Kočevje Administrative Units.
