Educational day for company SiDG d.o.o. and Slovenia Forest Service employees
On Tuesday, March 20th, educational day for company SiDG d.o.o. and SFS (Slovenia Forest Service) employees was carried out. Representatives of SFS and IRSNC (The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation) presented protected Natura 2000 sites in Slovenia and the measures we are implementing in Natura 2000 Kočevsko forests. The main purpose of the measures is conservation and improvement of the Natura 2000 habitats and Natura 2000 species state.
Slovenia area is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. Kočevsko is the largest Natura 2000 area in Slovenia, with the greatest biotic diversity. Since Natura 2000 Kočevsko covers large quantities of state forests, the project team is aware of the importance of professional cooperation with SiDG d.o.o., a forest management company owned by the RS. The transfer of knowledge and good practices and communication are thus the key to a constructive collaboration, which will certainly result in better management and conservation of the forest.
