Educational day on western capercaillie winter tracking at Pokljuka
On March 23, an educational day on western capercaillie winter tracking was held on Pokljuka. The training was conducted under the guidance of Tomaž Mihelič (DOPPS). The tracking was successful, as we had the opportunity to see quite a few signs of the western capercaillie presence: feces, signs of wings in snow before flight and signs of beech bud browsing. After completion of field work, we had a shorter analysis at SFS premises at Mrzli Potok.
We thank SFS regional unit Bled for the hospitality and warm welcome.
