Preparing for concrete nature conservation measures implementation
On Friday, 24 February, Slovenian Forest Service Kočevje hosted a consultation meeting. LIFE Kočevsko project team presented guidelines and instructions for concrete conservation measures implementation within Natura 2000 Kočevsko areas to foresters working in the field. Concrete actions will improve habitats for endangered bird species included in the project: the white-backed and the three-toed woodpecker, hazel grouse, western capercaillie and the white-tailed eagle.
49 foresters (SFS representatives from Kočevje, Postojna, Novo mesto and 4 IRSNC employees) took part in the consultation. The workshop was very well-accepted among the participants, especially for the concrete actions planned and implementation time-frame.
