Forestry students from Ljubljana visiting Kočevsko to learn more about white-tailed eagle conservation
Knowledge transfer, good practice examples and sharing experience are great ways to upgrade knowledge. For that reason, a field trip to Kočevsko was organized for the first year students from Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana, studying at the Forestry and Renewable Forest Resources department.
On Friday, 10 March, the largest Natura 2000 area in Slovenia and current project activities were presented to our visitors. Their visit was upgraded with a field trip to vicinity of Kočevska Reka. Winter feeding station for the white-tailed eagle and educational forest path route were presented, as well as conservation measures for the two endangered woodpecker species,
