Invitation to a walk around the biggest rainforest Pečka in Rog region

On Saturday, 9 July 2016,  we will take a circular walk path around the largest primal forest of the mountain ridge Rog. On the way we will witness extraordinary scenes of primal nature, we will search for the presence of woodpeckers, listen to the sounds of birds, learn about the importance of dead wood and the role of meadows and water springs in the forest. The alarming conservation status of white backed and three toed woodpecker in Kočevska region will be presented and efforts for their conservation in the LIFE Kočevsko project will be explained.
