Educational day for the eurasian three-toed and white-backed woodpecker monitoring implementation

On Tuesday, March 13th, project associates from SFS regional unit Kočevje organized educational day for the eurasian three-toed and white-backed woodpecker monitoring implementation. The monitoring will be carried out at Natura 2000 Kočevsko site. Participants were introduced with the results of monitoring carried out in 2015 and research of dietary base of white-backed woodpecker at Kočevsko site. After theroretical part of educational day, participants learned about monitoring process and species recognition (vocalisations and visual features). After presentation, participants received monitoring ecquipment. Monitoring will strart in next week and will be finished by the end of April.
