Presentation of LIFE Kočevsko project at Plan of management of Natura 2000 areas in Slovenia 2015-2020 workshop

Representatives of SFS (Slovenia forest service) and IRSNC (The Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation) attended the workshop on Programme of management of Natura 2000 in Slovenia for forestry and hunting sectors. Basic goal of management programme was to define fulfilment of duties in special nature protection areas – Natura 2000 areas for 2015 – 2020 period, which were imposed on Republic of Slovenia by the Directive on birds and the Directive on habitats. Programme of management defines conservational goals and measures in Natura areas, as well as competent parties for implementation of conservational measures. As part of the workshop, Marko Perušek presented project LIFE Kočevsko as example of good practice in terms of planning and implementation of measures aimed at maintaining favourable conditions for qualification species and HT in Natura 2000 Kočevsko area.
